About Me

My name is Peter and I am 34 years old. I live in family with my wife and my 3 children in Brittany.

It started in April 2012 with lower back pain, and then it spread very quickly all over my body. A great deal of fatigue had already settled in for several years, but it worsened and became more disabling. I then tested countless drugs, consulted various treating physicians, rheumatologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, pain center, week-long sessions at the hospital and in the end I was told that I had fibromyalgia. All this within almost 2 years.

This wandering made me switch to depression, the fear of dying seeing me so diminished (I couldn’t even walk 10 minutes anymore), almost constant insomnia …

When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I was relieved that a name was asked, it sounded to me like the end of this medical wandering, and the hope of treatment.

When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I was relieved that a name was asked, it sounded to me like the end of this medical wandering, and the hope of treatment.

Throughout my journey, I have come up against the incomprehension of people, administrations and those around me in the face of this disease which is invisible but still there. I started to understand the difficulty of having to explain, make people understand, what I felt, what I experienced on a daily basis.

Followed by appeals and expertise to have my rights recognized by the Social Security, occupational medicine, mdph … This is when you have to be strong to face these administrations, this system that rolls you over if you don’t know the inner workings of it perfectly, but it’s not easy when all of this comes at an already very difficult time in your life, it pumps up the little energy you have left .

Today, I live all of this better. I stopped all the drugs that were prescribed to me and for which I got no benefit, just a panel of side effects that did nothing to help me move forward. I have a homeopathic treatment essentially, which brings me the little extra that I need to manage my daily life

What also helped me was introducing physical activity into my daily routine. Stretching exercises help increase flexibility and decrease injuries. You have to go gradually and multiply the opportunities during the day to avoid muscle spasms. Muscles too long rest increases pain.
